Bill O’Reilly, host of the “O’Reilly Factor” on Fox News said Hillary Clinton hasn’t exactly been treated fairly by the press – that the media simply doesn’t like her and is taking that personal feeling to the extreme.
“I think they’ve been aggressive toward Hillary because they don’t much like her,” he said, in an interview with the Daily Caller. “They would prefer [Joe] Biden and, I mean, Bernie Sanders, my God. There’re a lot of agendas running around. I don’t like that.”
O’Reilly spoke with the Daily Caller about his new book. “Killing Reagan: The Violent Assault that Changed a Presidency,” and defended his research from those who say he didn’t paint the beloved U.S. leader is as positive light as they would like. And on comparisons of Donald Trump, the leading Republican candidate for president, to Reagan, as some have suggested, O’Reilly scoffed.
“Only in theater,” he said, the Daily Caller reported. “They’re both good presenters. But Reagan was an establishment Republican and Trump is a populist. So their styles politically are very different.”
The Fox News giant also addressed questions about his relationship with Trump in recent days, after the presidential candidate announced a boycott of Fox over what he claimed was unfair coverage. Fox responded through a spokesman, however, Trump only announced his boycott after the cable outlet canceled a scheduled appearance he was set with O’Reilly.
Trump has since rolled back that boycott and will speak with O’Reilly on Fox on Tuesday evening.
“I always talk to him,” O’Reilly said, saying he considered Trump a friend. “I laugh at him. I say, ‘Look, I’m going to have guests on the show. Some people like you, some people don’t. Am I supposed to not have guests who don’t like you? Come on.”
