Thirteen people, including three foreign nationals, were arrested by Turkish police in connection with the Istanbul airport terror attack, the nation’s state-run media reported.
Anadolu Agency said police conducted raids at 16 spots in Istanbul, hitting key residences in the neighborhoods of Pendik, Basaksehir and Sultanbeyli. No terror group has yet claimed responsibility for the Tuesday attack that left 42 dead and another 230 or so injured, but ISIS is widely believed to be the culprit.
Police haven’t released details about the suspects.
But a newspaper in Turkey, Hurriyet, did report one of the men arrested was a Russian national from Chechnya.
Witnesses to the terror attack at Istanbul’s airport reported seeing blood and carnage in the aisles and corridors, while authorities shuttered flights and operations for several hours, as WND previously reported.
