Hate fact? Alabama senator reveals huge majority of terror convicts foreign born

Alabama Republican Sen. Jeff Sessions revealed just how much danger the Obama administration is putting Americans in by simultaneously advocating open-borders and refusing to acknowledge the Islamic terror threat.

Since 9/11, according to a release of government data from Sessions’ office, more than 65 percent of people convicted of terrorism in the nation’s courts (380 of 580) were born somewhere other than the U.S.

“Of the 380 foreign-born, at least 24 were initially admitted to the United States as refugees, and at least 33 had overstayed their visas. Additionally, of those born abroad, at least 62 were from Pakistan, 28 were from Lebanon, 22 were Palestinian, 21 were from Somalia, 20 were from Yemen, 19 were from Iraq, 16 were from Jordan, 17 were from Egypt, and 10 were from Afghanistan,” said a Sessions statement.

Despite the government’s numbers showing the nation’s main terror threats being imported, the Obama administration has maintained that the federal government’s primary homeland security mission should be to hedge against “homegrown” terror. The insinuation, of course, is that the nation is overrun with white, fundamentalist Christion, racist right-wingers who harbor anti-government sentiments and are armed to the teeth.

But the numbers publicized by Sessions’ office betray that myth, showing that 17 of the 200 “native” terror convicts were the children of immigrants to the U.S. — Orlando shooter Omar Mateen is an example of this group.

Based on what can be inferred from the figures provided, Sessions is predicting that more terror attacks are inevitable.

In a letter to the White House earlier this month, the Republican lawmaker warned Obama:

[T]hese data make clear that the United States not only lacks the ability to properly screen individuals prior to their arrival, but also that our nation has an unprecedented assimilation problem.

When compared with your Administration’s immigration policies, and bearing in mind the four major terrorist attacks in the United States in the last year alone, this inability to properly screen individuals from abroad and assimilate those we admit paints a striking picture. Between Fiscal Years 2009 and 2014, the United States granted green cards to approximately 832,000 individuals from Muslim-majority countries, including approximately 102,000 from Iraq, 102,000 from Pakistan, 85,000 from Iran, nearly 18,000 from Syria, and nearly 20,000 from Yemen. For Fiscal Year 2016, as of June 10, the United States had admitted approximately 19,625 Muslim refugees from across the world, out of approximately 44,340 total refugees. It has also only managed to admit 3,887 Syrian refugees, of whom only 23 were not Muslim.

Unfortunately, the president and congressional Democrats appear poised to continue stymieing any conservative efforts to take a closer look at the intersection between immigration policy and increases in Islamic extremism in the U.S. by portraying anyone who points out these figures as anti-Muslim.
