Todd M. Siebert: Clinton — a loyal oligarch and a handpicked president

“Look, the average Democrat voter is just plain stupid. They’re easy to manipulate. That’s the easy part.” — Hillary Clinton, as told to Dick Morris in his 2005 book Rewriting History.

Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton could have added that voters have a short memory. Her former boss, President Barack Obama, has overseen the worst economic recovery in the post-World War II era.

Despite this, Obama has a 51 percent approval rating. Hillary is right; the average Democrat voter is just plain stupid, a trait which should serve her well in November.

Clinton had a front row seat to the abuse of executive powers by Obama which have done great harm to the nation. She has seen up close how the president’s Middle East policies have put that region at the edge of anarchy.

Yet Obama has not paid a political cost for his blunders. He has remained popular with the left, no doubt because his policies are tailored toward their goals rather than helping the country. Obama has also used his novelty as the first black president to rally millions who might otherwise be so inclined. As the first female presidential candidate from a major party, Clinton can trade on her political uniqueness.

Hillary has learned that voters don’t care about the Middle East or government spending. The millions that voted for Bernie Sanders in the Democratic primary race is proof positive that more Americans don’t mind big government. Whether it is her money, Bill’s money or the nation’s money, Hillary will spend like a bored housewife inside Saks Fifth Avenue with a new American Express platinum card.

But Hillary has more than just a spending problem. According to WND.com, Clinton has been associated with 22 scandals over 25 years; from Whitewater at the beginning of Bill’s presidency to deleted emails while she was secretary of state.

“In the years since the memorable Clinton presidency, Hillary has brought America Emailgate and the Benghazi scandal, among others. New developments in the Clinton Foundation scandals emerge almost daily,” states WND.com.

But the oligarchy that runs America appears to be dead set on a second Clinton as president because they believe she will be more easily controlled than her GOP counterpart, Donald Trump.

Bombs away

Consider Clinton on foreign policy. On the surface, Trump may seem more hawkish, but Clinton’s handlers have brilliantly crafted Clinton as a politician who will not back down to foreign adversaries.

In 2014, Time magazine’s Michael Crowley aptly summed up Clinton’s State Department record:

As Secretary of State, Clinton backed a bold escalation of the Afghanistan war. She pressed Obama to arm the Syrian rebels, and later endorsed airstrikes against the Assad regime. She backed intervention in Libya, and her State Department helped enable Obama’s expansion of lethal drone strikes. In fact, Clinton may have been the administration’s most reliable advocate for military action.

In 2016, The Cairo Review wrote a report on Clinton titled Hillary the Hawk:

According to the Cairo publication, “Clinton’s hawkish views go well beyond her strident support for the U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003 and subsequent occupation and counter-insurgency war. From Afghanistan to Western Sahara, she has advocated for military solutions to complex political problems…”

Below is a sampling of her disastrous record on foreign affairs:

Clinton said Obama was wrong not to launch missile strikes on Syria in 2013.
Clinton pushed for the overthrow of Gaddafi in 2011.
Clinton backed the escalation of the war in Afghanistan.
Clinton voted for the 2003 invasion of Iraq.
Clinton encouraged the use of killer drones.
Clinton consistently backed Israel’s military initiatives.

Trump is a wolf and proud of it. Clinton is a wolf in sheep’s clothing and seems to have the backing of the ultimate authority, a global cabal.

Mutiny on the mall

So determined is the military-industrial complex to increase war profiteering they have enlisted Republicans to sell out Trump, who they see as undependable when it comes to their foreign policy dictates.

Republicans that speak ill of Donald Trump and will not vote for him are in transgression of Ronald Reagan’s 11th Commandment: “Thou shalt not speak ill of any fellow Republican.”

FiveThirtyEight recently reported on the anti-Trump movement inside the Republican Party. In the article Daniel Nichanian writes:

Sixty, to be exact. By my count that is the number of Republican governors, U.S. senators and U.S. representatives whose public position is that they outright oppose Trump or that they are not yet ready to commit one way or the other. Thirteen are in the #NeverTrump club (four senators, one governor and eight House members), and 47 are in the “maybe later/maybe never” camp, spearheaded by Sen. Ted Cruz.

Who is Hillary Clinton?

Edward Klein, who wrote the No. 1 New York Times bestseller, The Amateur in 2012 about Barack Obama, did a political follow-up book in 2014 titled, Blood Feud: The Clintons vs. The Obamas.

Through his sources, Klein tries to gain an understanding of Barack and Hillary. He finds the latter to be the most difficult to understand:

(One confidante) mentioned how Hillary remembered her classmates’ birthdays and the names of their loved ones; how much fun Hillary was to be with; how she caught a joke instantly and laughed before anyone else. And yet, at the same time and without meaning to, this source described a woman who could be hard to like; a woman who was as coarse as Lyndon Johnson and as paranoid as Richard Nixon; someone who often came across as disingenuous; an irascible woman who found it almost impossible to contain her feelings of resentment and anger.

I read The Presidents Club by Nancy Gibbs and Michael Duffy. The book focused on the close friendships that date back to ex-presidents Herbert Hoover and Harry S. Truman. One of the closest friendships was between Presidents Richard Nixon and Bill Clinton.

Clinton proudly displayed a framed, handwritten letter from Nixon to him shortly before his death. This is ironic because Hillary Clinton in 1974 was a member of the Nixon impeachment inquiry during the Watergate scandal. Later that year Nixon resigned.

No one had a better front row seat to Watergate and Nixon’s self-destruction than Hillary. Yet she displays similar traits.

It should be no surprise that Clinton is under investigation, this time for the blatant misuse of secret documents which she nonchalantly sent through her personal server. Her continuous lies on this crime are a replay of Watergate.

As the FBI investigation continues, there are rumors that Clinton will face indictment. I very much doubt it. The cabal that runs our government, and by extension our lives, seems to like Hillary at a time when alternatives are available.

Much can happen before November, but I think the fix is in for a Clinton presidency. That will have a disastrous impact on the 1^st and 2^nd Amendments. Her devil-may-care attitude regarding Islamic extremism should be a concern to us all.

But Clinton winning the presidency has one more negative, and that is the justices she will nominate for the Supreme Court over the next four or eight years.

America is at a crossroads and we are turning the wrong way.
