Sheriff posts ‘most politically incorrect’ sign in U.S.

A six-time elected Georgia sheriff is taking a very public stand against a wave of political correctness sweeping America – and anyone who doesn’t like it isn’t welcome in his county.

Harris County, Georgia, Sheriff Mike Jolley posted a large sign Tuesday that reads: “WARNING: Harris County is politically incorrect. We say: Merry Christmas, God Bless America and In God We Trust. We salute our troops and our flag. If this offends you … LEAVE!”

Jolley told Columbus’ Ledger-Enquirer the sign is meant to “stir people’s belief and patriotism” and that he’s simply tired of the silent majority being “more silent.”

“It’s time for the silent majority to stand up for our beliefs and not be ashamed,” he said.

Since Jolley posted the sign he purchased for $553, other citizens have inquired about buying one for their properties. In fact, several residents sent Jolley checks to cover the cost of his sign.

“The sign has been purchased double,” he told the Ledger-Enquirer. “I’m humbled by the support. Surprised and humbled by it.”

When the newspaper asked Jolley how his non-Christian employees feel about the sign, the sheriff said, “They’re more than welcome to worship whatever God they choose fit.”

He continued, “For me and mine, we worship Jesus Christ.”

Jolley said he hopes the sign might also inspire people to be more grateful: “Coming up on Thanksgiving, maybe somebody will be thankful for something we have.”

So far, public reaction appears overwhelmingly supportive of Jolley. The following are some Facebook reactions to his sign:

• If Harris County is lucky, the liberals will boycott them and take their race-baiting whining and find offense elsewhere. Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas Harris County.
