Alan Grayson, Dem pitbull: I’ll sue Ted Cruz

Alan Grayson, a Florida lawmaker who’s seeking to move into Marco Rubio’s senate seat – and who’s earned a reputation as one of the Democratic Party’s loudest pitbulls against Republicans – said he’ll challenge Sen. Ted Cruz’s citizenship via a formal lawsuit if the Texan wins the GOP nod for the White House.

Grayson, who rose to media fame in 2009 by proclaiming from the House floor that Republicans’ health care plan amounted to “don’t get sick” and “if you do get sick, die quickly,” made the vow while speaking to Alan Colmes on Fox News Radio.

Colmes first asked what Grayson’s priority list of attack was for Republicans.

“Honestly, it’s the appalling choices that they have among their so–called presidential candidates,” Grayson said, Breitbart reported.

Colmes mentioned the rising poll star of Cruz and Grayson responded by calling all the candidates bigots.

“It’s resolved itself into this weird reality show,” he said, of the campaign race on the Republican side, Breitbart reported. “It’s not ‘The Biggest Loser’ that they’re choosing. It’s ‘The Biggest Bigot.’… Show me one who represents the exception here. In a sense I guess Curs is not technically that way, because technically he’s not even an American.”

Colmes’ reply: “Well, his mother was born here so I guess like Obama, though it’s interesting to me the people who had a problem with … Obama’s birth certificate don’t have a problem with Ted Cruz, who literally was born in another country and renounced his Canadian citizenry.”

And Grayson: “I don’t know … the Constitution says natural born Americans, so now we’re counting Canadians as natural born Americans? How does that work? I’m waiting for the moment that he gets the nomination and then I will file that beautiful lawsuit saying that he’s unqualified for the job because he’s ineligible … Absolutely [I’ll file]. Call me crazy but I think the president of America should be an American.”

Grayson then said “even the anchor babies are actually born here [but Cruz] doesn’t even meet that qualification.”
