With nearly 70 percent of African–American households falling under the category of fatherless – meaning the dad’s not living in the home – black pop artist Chris Brown came out with a blunt scolding for his fellow fathers: Grow up, be a man, he said.

“I think a lot of times people, or even young black men, we don’t accept our responsibility because we’re too scared, because we’re too young, whatever it is,” singer Brown said, in an interview with Hot 97.

He made the remarks while discussing his recent joint custody win of his daughter, age 16 months, and his pledge to pay $2,500 a month in child support, Breitbart reported.

During the custody battle, the Grammy winning artist referenced the viciousness of the proceedings with this tweet: “Some men my age run from their responsibility as fathers. I embrace mine. Just suchs that some females use children as meal ticket.”

Brown, to Hot 97, said black men need to do a better job of being fathers to their children. As Breitbart noted, the Census Bureau reports almost 70 percent of black households are fatherless, led by single mothers.

Colin Flaherty’s book, “Don’t Make the Black Kids Angry: The Hoax of Black Victimization and Those Who Enable It,” documents black crime in America and exposes how the media and politicians are willing partners in what the author calls “the greatest lie of our generation.”

“[Being a father] shows more character,” Brown said. “[It] shows your growth as a man.”

Brown’s upcoming album, “Royalty,” is the same name as his daughter.

Years ago, Brown faced a widespread ban of entry from other nations after he pleaded guilty in 2009 to assaulting his girlfriend, fellow pop star, Rihanna.

Michaelia Cash, Australia’s minister for women, said then, CNN reported: “People need to understand, if you are going to commit domestic violence and then you want to travel around the world, there are going to be countries that say to you, ‘You cannot come in because you are not of the character that we expect.’”
