The words sound like they’re coming from the current GOP presidential race frontrunner, Donald Trump:
“We let Japan come in and dump everything in our markets.”
“I think people are tired of seeing the United States ripped off.”
“This country would make one helluva lot of money from those people that for 25 years have taken advantage.”
And on the presidential race, “I wouldn’t go in to lose.”
The comments are from Donald Trump. But they’re from 1988.
That’s 27 years before he actually launched his bid. And surged to the top of all the polls this summer.
A video of his interview on a television talk show has been making the rounds on the Internet.
See the interview:
Trump’s campaign this year has included comments about trade – and how America is caught at a disadvantage too often on the world market.
And he talked about making America’s trading partners cough up a fair share of revenue.
He’s even said that he’s in it now to win it.
