(THE HILL) Wheaton College announced on Sunday that it is renaming an academic research center honoring former Speaker Dennis Hastert (R-Ill.), according to The Associated Press.
The Christian educational institution said it would no longer refer to a building on its campus near Chicago as the J. Dennis Hastert Center for Economics, Government and Public Policy, according to the AP, which said the building will bear the college’s name instead.
The AP said that Wheaton’s decision followed Hastert’s resignation from the research center’s board on Friday.
