Joe Scarborough, former U.S. congressman and current host of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” hinted he’d be open to serving as vice president under Donald Trump, though he’s not so sure the billionaire front-runner would even ask.

Radio’s Hugh Hewitt pressed Scarborough to say whether he’d accept the role. And at first, the former lawmaker dodged.

“I don’t know where you got that from? You always get me in trouble with questions like this, Hugh,” Scarborough said, CNN Money reported. “Nobody’s going to ask me to do anything buut, like, take them to softball practice and basketball practice.”

With more pressing, he said he didn’t think Trump would ask.

Then with even more pressing, Scarborough said: “I will say this, and I’ve said this on the air and so this is not really any secret at all, I’ll do anything that will get, will stop us from eight more years like the last eight years we’ve had. I mean, I think I put myself in your category, I would do just about anything to try to get the White House back.”

Scarborough later took to Twitter to say: “I rule it out. Now on to more important things. What’s REM’s best album?”

Scarborough and his MSNBC co-host Mika Brzezinski, recently discussed the widely reported Megyn Kelly-Donald Trump public spat, falling on the side of the billionaire businessman.

After playing a segment of Kelly’s statements about Trump, Scarborough said sarcastically: “That is just good, unbiased journalism. And if I were a candidate, I certainly would want that person asking me questions in a fair and a balanced way. No, actually, as I said before, I would rather set myself on fire in front of the Fox News news studio than go on the debate stage with that.”
