Left-leaning media pundits have finally awoken to the right’s real problem with Hillary Clinton – her failure to speak in a forthright manner about her many past and looming scandals – and on recent televised discussions, took to slamming the presidential hopeful as secretive and disingenuous.
On “Face the Nation” on CBS, Molly Ball, a politics writer for the liberal Atlantic magazine, said Clinton has difficulty behaving in a transparent and open manner.
“[The characterization’s] not just a media narraitve,” she said, Mediaite reported. “It is a fact the Clintons, especially Hillary, are very guarded, very secretive people.”
Ball also said Clinton’s recent release of emails for congressional review may only be a “charade of transparency” to bolster her honesty factor with the American people. National Journal’s Ron Fournier, another liberally-slanted journalist, spoke in even blunter terms about Clinton’s ethics issues.
He said both Hillary and Bill Clinton are engaging in “serial disingenous behavior” as they try to ward off accusations about the private email server the former secretary of state set up in the couple’s New York home for public use.
“There is a big story and big questions ahead to be asked about what she’s hiding in the emails, why she’s not being transparent and why she’s not following the rules,” Fournier said.
And yet one more scolding, from the Washington Post’s Dan Balz: “This is something that has to concern the Clinton campaign. They cannot take this lightly.”
