A strange trend has begun emerging across the country in recent weeks. Some people, at the end of life, are beginning to share a common parting wish: that none of their friends and loved ones votes for Hillary Clinton in 2016.
First there was Larry Darrell Upright of North Carolina, whose family in April “respectfully ask[ed] that you do not vote for Hillary Clinton in 2016,” according to the gentleman’s obituary.
Then there was Elaine Fydrych of Gloucester Township, New Jersey, whose obituary ended with this: “Elaine requests, ‘In lieu of flowers, please do not vote for Hillary Clinton.’”
Now another person has included Hillary Clinton in his dying wish — and once again, he’s done so in a way that doesn’t offer Hillary much in the way of good PR.
Richard Buckman, a fellow Arkansan to the Clintons, passed away on Aug. 22. A resident of Beebe, Arkansas, Buckman’s final request mirrors the others’. “In lieu of flowers, please do not vote for Hillary,” his obituary states.
What is going on here? The Washington Free Beacon speculates that, despite her age, Clinton is demographically challenged when it comes to her fellow senior citizens.
“Clinton, who denotes herself ‘grandma’ on Twitter, may have a problem among older voters,” notes the Beacon. “A CNN/ORC poll released earlier this month indicated that registered voters age 50 and older have a significantly less favorable opinion of Clinton than their younger counterparts, with 39 percent of the older crowd viewing her favorably and 60 percent unfavorably. Among voters under 50, Clinton has a favorable rating of 48 percent.”
