Jorge Ramos, the Univision journalist who just made national waves by interrupting Donald Trump’s press conference to demand explanations about the presidential hopeful’s immigration views, has now come forward to say the law named after murdered Kate Steinle, “Kate’s Law,’ is “completely unfair” to illegals, he said.
The proposed “Kate’s Law” comes on the heels of an illegal immigrant’s arrest over the shooting death of Steinle, as she walked on a pier in San Francisco with her father. The suspect, soon after arrested, at first told police he was living in San Francisco because it was a “sanctuary city” and he knew he wouldn’t be deported, a claim that sparked a massive outcry about government policies that allow illegals to stay in U.S. communitie. From that, came Kate’s Law, which would sentence all previously deported illegal immigrants who are caught re-entering the country to an automatic five years in federal prison.
Ramos, however, took issue with that law.
“I think it is unfair that because one undocumented immigrant killed a wonderful human being that all immigrants are being blamed for that killing,” he said, during an interview on CNN. “It is so unfair … it is as unfair as if we were to criticize all white men in the United States for what happened in that theaters in Aurora, Colorado.”
Ramos also expressed “condolences go to the families of those two Americans who have been killed recently by undocumented immigrants,” Breibart reported. But he then added: “It is unfair to stereotpye a community … the Hispanic community or the immigrant community.”
