The WIRE: Your week in review

From Teheran to Washington — and most points in between — it’s time for a look back at the week that was. Personal Liberty Digest® presents: The WIRE!

The nation mourned the passing of First Lady Nancy Reagan this week. At least, most of the nation did. President Obama skipped the American icon’s funeral; instead attending the South by Southwest entertainment festival.

I’m sorry she died; but SXSW has craft beer, hipsters and beta-males! I gotta kick it with my people!

During a news conference with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, President Obama claimed he has “not contributed to” the unprecedented racial and economic polarization which has taken place on his watch.

And anyone who says differently is a ‘bitter clinger!’

With rumors swirling of an impending indictment, Univision host Jorge Ramos asked Hillary Clinton if she would step down if she was indicted. Nana’s answer was — well — it went on for a while, and had a lot of words in it; but none of them were anywhere near “yes” or “no.”

Did I catch a “Klaatu Barada Nikto” in there?

In fact, Clinton’s reaction to Ramos’s question was so vociferously confused, some wondered if her surprise might be related to the fact that Ramos is Latino.

Where does this guy get off? He looks like my gardener!

Hillary showed a stone-cold side in answering a question about the Benghazi debacle; taking the unlikely tack of calling victim Sean Smith’s mother a liar on global television.

Every time she talks, the temperature drops 10 degrees.

Senator Bernie Sanders didn’t do himself any favors this week, claiming “When you are white… you don’t know what it’s like to be poor.”

Get a job, you filthy deadbeat cracker!

The Democrat Party held a debate in Flint, Michigan; practically forcing viewers to notice the irony of Nana and Uncle Grandpa promising that Democrats will make everything better while standing in the ruins of a city accursed by almost 90 years of Democratic control.

It was like holding a serial killer’s trial in the morgue.

More Trump troubles abounded as his campaign manager was accused of assaulting Breitbart reporter Michelle Fields, and a 78 year-old Trump supporter punched out a left wing protester who tried to interrupt a Trump rally.

Trump makes white people crazier than heavy metal music.

Obama’s vaunted Iran deal hit another snag this week, as Iran did everything but tack it to one of their missiles and launch it at Israel. Appease fascist dictators and throw money at them so they can jump start their nuclear weapons programs on the U.S. taxpayers’ dime? Brilliant.

The Obama Doctrine was cooler when it was the Clinton Doctrine.

Turns out, the “most transparent administration in history” has been secretly fighting to crush the Freedom of Information Act. To paraphrase Inigo Montoya: “I don’t think it means what you think it means.” Nobody accused Obama of being a genius.

Hey, there’s a guy in this other room who looks exactly like me!

And Friday morning Ben Carson formally endorsed Trump, noting in his remarks the existence of “two Donald Trumps.”

Is he telling us there are MORE of these things?

And that’s your week in review! For the Personal Liberty Digest®, I’m Ben Crystal saying “See you next week, on The WIRE!”
