At least one Chicago police officer is unhappy with the media coverage of the violence that shut down Donald Trump’s recent rally, saying the press hasn’t exactly been fair and balanced in reporting the antics of Democrat operatives who are simply trying to undercut the billionaire businessman’s White House run.
“It seems the [media] aren’t broadcasting footage of the debris being thrown across Harrison by Sanders/Hillary supporters at Trump fans,” one officer wrote in an anonymous post at Second City Cop blog.
The officer also noted that certain members of the press didn’t report how police had to call on emergency response teams to deal with anti-Trump rioters at the UIC auditorium, Breitbart reported.
The officer, in a second post, also criticized the police plan that guided the rally’s security detail, saying it was sorely lacking in manpower and leadership.
“Who gave up the expressway? Who let [protesters] block ambulances? Why did they not assemble citywide Incident Teams as soon as they knew the rally was canceled? Tact teams? We even heard Mass Arrest kits weren’t available and only one transport wagon on scene in case arrests were made,” the officer wrote, Breitbart reported. “Who ever drew up this order failed miserably. Whatever the Intelligence Section was doing wasn’t nearly enough. The On Scene Incident Commander failed to anticipate even the best case scenario and every other appointee showed how incompetent they really were by not ordering up more reinforcements and more units on stand-by.”
Trump had canceled his Friday rally at the University of Illinois-Chicago auditorium due to security threats.
As Gateway Pundit reported: “Leftist protesters cheered, beat Trump supporters, blocked an ambulance to the local hospital and screamed profanities at families staying at the Trump Hotel.”
