Authorities have warned people to stay away from a Naval center in San Diego.
An active shooter situation was reported late Tuesday morning at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, according to the facility’s Facebook page.
The message advises those in the area to “run, hide or fight,” while personnel of non-emergency status were told to stay away from the scene.
The shooter was at one point at least believed to have taken up a spot in Building 26.

Nearby schools were placed on lock-down status.
The situation is fluid, and it’s not yet known if anyone has been shot.
The actual post read: “**ATTENTION!** An active shooter has just been reported in building #26 at Naval Medical Center San Diego. All occupants are advised to run, hide or fight. All non-emergency response personnel are asked to stay away from the compound, located at 34800 Bob Wilson Drive, San Diego, CA, 92134.
The Los Angeles Times, meanwhile, reported on its own Facebook page: “CONFIRMED: Military police are handling reports of an active shooter situation at the Naval Medical Center.
