A blog run by a former congressman is reporting U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, whose work in recent months principally has been to negotiate a nuclear “deal” with Iran, had a cozy link to that nation’s Islamists dating back years.
How cozy?
The son of Iran’s main negotiator sitting opposite the table from Kerry was best man at the wedding of Kerry’s daughter a few years ago, according to the report by Michele Hickford, editor in chief for the AllenBWest.com website.
The report cites Mohammad Javad Zarif, who has held “various significant diplomatic and cabinet posts since the 1990s” and currently serves at that nation’s minister of foreign affairs.
“He was Kerry’s chief counterpart in the nuclear deal negotiations,” she reports.
“Secretary Kerry and Zarif first met over a decade ago at a dinner party hosted by George Soros at his Manhattan penthouse,” the report said. “But it gets even worse. Guess who was the best man at the 2009 wedding between Kerry’s daughter Vanessa and Behrouz Vala Nahed?
“Javad Zarif’s son.”
“Does this bother anyone at all?” the blog reports.
“Apparently Kerry only revealed his daughter’s marriage to an Iranian-American once he had taken over as secretary of state. But the subject never came up in his Senate confirmation hearing, either because Kerry never disclosed it, or because his former colleagues were ‘too polite’ to bring it up,” the blog said.
The report said it was interesting that the groom, Brian (Behrooz) Nahed, is the son of Nooshin and Reza Vala Nahid of Los Angeles but at the time of the engagement announcement to Vanessa Bradford Kerry, “there was rarely any mention of Nahed’s Persian/Iranian ancestry, and even the official wedding announcement in the October 2009 issue of New York Times carefully avoids any reference to Dr. Nahed’s (Nahid)’s birthplace (which is uncommon in wedding announcements) …”
At the Conservative Tribune, an unsigned commentary cited the links between Kerry and Zarif.
“No word on how the two bonded, although one suspects their general contempt for America and pro-Iranian foreign policy views must have been a common point of conversation.”
It reported that, “While Mohammad Javad Zarif didn’t become minister of foreign affairs until 2013, under Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, he had been a major player in Iranian politics for decades before this. In fact, Zarif had served as the Permanent Representative of Iran to the United Nations from 2002 to 2007, under the Khatami and Ahmadinejad regimes.”
The deal Kerry worked out with Iran already has been endorsed on the world stage, although U.S. Congress has only begun reviewing it. It will allow worldwide traders to resume doing business with Iran, give the Islamist regime hundreds of billions of dollars and more.
Iranian officials have boasted that it does not require them to dismantle their nuclear facilities, though the Western goal in the deal was to prevent the rogue nation from acquiring nuclear weapons. A secret side deal provides that U.S. inspectors are banned from participating in inspections of some parts of Iran’s compliance with the deal.
Said the Tribune, “Kerry’s performance during the recent P5+1 negotiations [was] a joke. Unfortunately, nobody’s laughing except the mullahs in Tehran. Now, perhaps, we’re beginning to understand why the secretary of state was so easy on the Iranian regime.”
