Freudian slip? Chelsea dubs Sanders the winner

Famous first daughter Chelsea Clinton did her mother a big disservice when, in a recent campaign speech, she mistakenly dubbed Hillary Clinton’s presidential rival, Bernie Sanders, the White House commander-in-chief.

Clinton, while speaking to a Minneapolis crowd, was trying to criticize Sanders, who’s been beating the once-presumed primary pick, Clinton, in recent polls and who nearly won the Iowa caucuses.

But instead, she said: “We also need to strip away the immunity that President Sanders – excuse me, Senator Sanders – I hope not President Sanders – Senator Sanders,” KARE 11 reported.

The crowd of about 250 laughed while she shifted nervously in her chair.

The Iowa caucuses very nearly pulled out a surprise win for the self-declared socialist Sanders, whose populist message, including the denouncement of Wall Street, the promise of free college education, and the vow to impose higher taxes on the wealthy, have especially resonated with the younger crowds.
