It would be impossible to list all of the politicians, corrupt public agencies and movements that threatened your liberty in 2015. But here’s a go at listing some we think are top offenders.
No. 10: Donald Trump
Conservatives like Donald Trump come in at No. 10 — and for good reason, considering his promises to tackle an out-of-control immigration system and pursue policies that put Americans first if elected president.
But it’s hard to tell sometimes whether he’s just telling voters what they want to hear. And it’s no secret that many of the things he says he’d do as president probably wouldn’t pass the Constitution test.
Here are a few Personal Liberty® articles to remind you of why Trump may not be the best choice for liberty heading in to 2016:

No. 9: ISIS
The Islamic State that has emerged in the Middle East and metastasized throughout the world is, at its core, an affront to liberty. But the mountain of evidence pointing to the U.S. government’s role in allowing the terror group to proliferate combined with the increasing likelihood that U.S. policies are going to bring its brand of terror to the homeland are what landed ISIS a spot on this list:
- “ISIS is being aimed at the West by globalists; here’s what we can do about it”
- “Is martial law justified if ISIS attacks?”
- “Americans believe the terrorists are winning as GOP candidates ramp up ISIS rhetoric”
- “Want to be president? Truth-tellers need not apply”
- “This proves Obama is lying about vetting refugees”
No. 8: The liberal media
In the past couple of years, the media has acknowledged that the Barack Obama-led federal government is hiding unprecedented amounts of information from Americans.
Here are some examples:
- “NYT exec: Obama administration ‘most secretive’ White House she’s ever seen”
- “Dozens of media outlets call on obama to stop stifling free expression”
- “More MSM backlash against Obama administration’s control-freak idea of ‘transparency’”
- “Washington reporters say Obama administration is least transparent since Nixon”
Yet even when mainstream reporters have practically tripped over Obama administration scandals, they’ve refused to provide accurate information about the scope of the administration’s corruption.
Thankfully, alternative media outlets like Personal Liberty®, with the help of watchdog and public interest groups like Judicial Watch and WikiLeaks, remain dedicated to exposing the truth.
No. 7: Political correctness run amok
The political left has been pushing political correctness for years. But in 2015, the result of all that soft language and hyper-inclusiveness came into full view:

- “Rocky Top embraces the gender-neutral PC madness”
- “Democrats fail big time with attempt to satisfy the gods of political correctness”
- “Comedians, free speech group announce new film that pushes back against campus PC culture”
- “The words ‘politically correct’ are now politically incorrect at this public university”
The consequences of the PC overload are yet to be fully realized. But based on what we’ve seen so far, it won’t be a more intelligent, stronger or well-rounded society.
No. 6: James Comey
As the FBI director, James Comey belongs on this list for plenty of reasons. But that he just can’t seem to shut up about how much he wants access to your private digital activity is why we’ve included him.
Since tech giants Apple and Google announced that they would include unbreakable encryption on devices to protect users, Comey has led the Obama administration’s push to force them to include backdoors for law enforcement.
“Tech execs say privacy should be the paramount virtue,” Comey told lawmakers earlier in the year. “When I hear that, I close my eyes and say, ‘Try to image [sic] what the world looks like where pedophiles can’t be seen, kidnapper[s] can’t be seen, drug dealers can’t be seen.’”

No. 5: ATF
In an effort to help Obama’s gun control agenda along this year, officials with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives rolled out plans to reclassify certain types of 5.56mm/.223 caliber ammunition as armor-piercing. If the plan had moved forward, critics say it would have amounted to the de facto completion of the Obama administration’s plan to enact an extrajudicial ban on AR-style rifles.
Luckily, the effort was quashed by patriots like you:

- “Ammo ban proposal built on straw man logic and outright lies”
- “White House claims populist support of ammo ban as critics warn of intensifying assault on the 2nd Amendment”

No. 4: DHS
This seems like a no-brainer. After all, the Department of Homeland Security is in charge of the Transportation Security Administration and a number of other agencies that, by design, violate liberties. But the reason we’ve placed DHS on this list is much more serious.
You see, as DHS continually reminds Americans citizens that it’s necessary to trade liberty for national security, its agencies routinely demonstrate that they can protect neither.
This has become especially apparent in security officials’ multiple admissions that terrorists are likely making their way into the country right now, thanks to Obama’s immigration/refugee policies.
Meanwhile, the agency has also claimed that right-leaning Americans are a bigger threat to national security than Islamic terror:
- “Obama’s administration is leading the jihadi invasion”
- “Proof Obama can’t keep terrorists from claiming to be refugees”
- “How refugees from terror strongholds could bring tragedy to the homeland”
- “Paris attacks an opportunity to rethink insane U.S. refugee policies”
- “DHS declares ‘right-wing sovereign citizens’ top U.S. terror threat”
No. 3: Paul Ryan
If you thought Paul Ryan was the conservative answer to the disappointing John Boehner speakership, you couldn’t have been more wrong.
As our Ben Crystal put it, “I almost didn’t recognize Nancy Pelosi with the beard.”
But, hey, at least he had Harry Reid’s support:
- “Ryan is a Boehner ‘Mini-Me’ to some conservatives”
- “Double secret Democrats”
- “A Rubio presidency and Ryan speakership equal amnesty as soon as 2017”
No. 2: Hillary Clinton
This is where things are going to get a little obvious. But can you blame us?
As long as Hillary Clinton is politically active, her long list of corrupt activities and total disgust for average Americans will always earn her a high rank on the list of liberty’s biggest enemies.

No. 1: President Barack Obama
Again, this is obvious. But the final months of the Obama presidency are poised to be a disaster for conservatives and fans of liberty.
The president has given unprecedented power to federal bureaucrats at the Environmental Protection Agency, skewered businesses with healthcare mandates, inflamed racial tensions, admitted terrorists into the country with loose immigration policies, allowed the Internal Revenue Service to attack conservatives and aided Clinton in the cover-up of massive failures at the State Department.
Now he’s coming for America’s guns and getting ready to unleash a regulatory landslide on his way out.
