Democrat chickens coming home to roost in Baltimore?

Protesters in Baltimore destroyed and damaged numerous businesses.

President Obama and several key Democrats have taken to national media in recent hours to assign fault in any direction but their own for the recent violent uprisings and protests in Baltimore.

Obama, in his first public statement on the days-long unrest that began after Freddie Gray died due to injuries suffered during police custody, slammed the city’s thuggery – but also Congress for blocking his agenda.

“I’m under no illusion that under this Congress we’re going to get massive investments in urban communities,” he said, speaking of the Republican-dominated House and Senate, various media reported.

In “Scam: How the Black Leadership Exploits Black America,” Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson – a true black leader whom many affectionately call “the other Jesse” – shows how the civil rights establishment has made a lucrative career out of keeping racial strife alive in America.

Obama also roped in police to the blame game, subtly criticizing their perceived shortcomings during a Tuesday joint press conference with Japan’s prime minister, Shinzo Abe, in the Rose Garden.

“We can’t just leave this to the police,” he said, speaking of how Baltimore and other communities facing similar unrest can find a long-term solution, the Daily Beast reported. “I think there are police departments that have to do some soul searching. I think there are some communities that have to do some soul searching. But I think we, as a country, have to do some soul searching.”

Some of his other remarks: “Without making any excuses for criminal activities that take place in these communities, what we also know is that if you have impoverished communities that have been stripped away of opportunity, where children are born into abject poverty … It’s more likely that those kids end up in jail or dead than that they go to college.”

Obama also said if the nation wanted to solve the matter, “we’re going to not only have to help the police, we’re going to think about what we can do, the rest of us, to make sure that we’re providing early education to these kids, to make sure that we’re reforming our criminal justice system … so it’s not just a pipeline from schools to prisons, so that we’re not rendering men in these communities unemployable because of a felony record for a non-violent drug offense.”

Former Secretary of State and Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton weighed in Wednesday on the Baltimore violence with similarly progressive principles during an address at Columbia University.

She said, Fox News reported: “Everyone in every community benefits when there is respect for the law … and is respected by the law. That is what we have to work towards in Baltimore and across the country. We must urgently begin to rebuild the bonds of trust … in our politics, our press, our markets, between and among neighbors and even among people we disagree politically.”

Clinton also said: “The inequities that exist in our justice system underline this shared vision.”

Leading Democrats on Capitol Hill, meanwhile, have turned their fingers outward to find those at fault with the violence that’s torn apart Baltimore in recent days.

House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer, a Democrat who represents Maryland, refused to call the violence in the city a failure of Baltimore’s government. The top two police officials are black, while the force is almost 50 percent black; the city’s mayor is a black Democrat; every single member of the Baltimore city council is a Democrat.

Baltimore has not had a Republican mayor since 1967. Since 1969, there have been only two Republican governors of the state of Maryland.

In 2012, Obama won 87.4% of the vote in the city of Baltimore.

“I wouldn’t call it a failure, certainly, of Baltimore,” Hoyer said, to the Daily Caller. “But we’re going to have to as a country invest if we’re going to have the kinds of communities we want.”

The city has been under mostly Democratic governance for the past 50 years. National Review also reports the city’s leadership has been plagued by corruption for years.

The outlet reports: “While the progressives have been running the show in Baltimore, police commissioner Ed Norris was sent to prison on corruption charges (2004), two detectives were sentenced to 454 years in prison for dealing drugs (2005), an officer was dismissed after being videotaped verbally abusing a 14-year-old and then failing to file a report on his use of force against the same teenager (2011), an officer was fired for sexually abusing a minor (201) and the city paid a quarter-million-dollar settlement to a man police illegally arrested for the non-crime of recording them at work. … Does that sound like a disciplined police organization to you?”

The writer continues: “Yes, Baltimore seems to have some police problems. But let us be clear about whose fecklessness and dishonesty we are talking about here: No Republican, and certainly no conservative, has left so much as a thumbprint on the public institutions of Baltimore in a generation. Baltimore’s police department is … the product of the progressive wing of the Democratic party.”
