Ted Cruz appeals to ‘awaken the body of Christ’

Sen. Ted Cruz took a bold approach during his eleventh hour campaign trail in Iowa, telling evangelicals to help him “awaken the body of Christ,” get in the political game, and get to the caucuses in record numbers.

“[It’s time to] awaken the body of Christ that we may pull back from the abyss,” Cruz said, during a stump speech just hours before the Monday caucuses are set to start, Breitbart reported.

Polls put Cruz at second to Trump, and both are making strong appeals to the evangelicals in Iowa.

So far, Cruz has received endorsements from hundreds among that camp of voters.

His message in Iowa mirrors what he said to the same state’s voters in December, as reported by Breitbar: “If we awaken and energize the body of Christ, if Christians and people of faith come out and vote our values, we will win and we will turn the country around,” he said back then.

He also said in December, Breitbart reported: “I want to tell everyone to get ready, strap on the full armor of God, get ready for the attacks that are coming.”
