All those celebrities who have promised to abandon the U.S. and move to Canada because of Donald Trump’s election as president?
Not going to happen.
Well, mostly. Canadians did say, “We promise to take Bieber back, keep the left-wing nut jobs.”
That’s according to a report in the Daily Mail, which cited social-media battles over who has to have them.
It crashed over and over.
See WND’s big list of celebrities who have promised to leave the country if Trump wins.
Among those claiming to be hunting for a new northern North America home in socialist Canada were the aging singer/songwriter Cher, the “pansexual” entertainer Miley Cyrus, actor Samuel Jackson, House of Cards actress Neve Campbell, “Girls” celebrity Lena Dunham, and “Breaking Bad” star Bryan Cranston.
But the Mail cited a Dr. Winder Gill of Toronto, who posted an image of a man building an igloo, and the message, “This is Canada building an igloo wall between the U.S., just in case. I’ll bet you regret all of those jokes now, eh?”
He added, “When did moving to Canada become the backup plan to poor decision making in an election?”
Dave, on Twitter, responded to the celebs’ announcements, writing, “@lenadunham off you go and we Canadians don’t want you.”
“Not a Real Doctor” then said, “@Dave_LT You sent us Bieber, so you taking @lenadunham is more than fair.”
To which Dave wrote, “okay we promise to take Bieber back but you keep all those left-wing nut jobs. Our squirrels will eat them.”
Another Canadian wrote, “Please don’t punish us few sane-minded Canadians.”
In the immediate aftermath of the election, “Veep” star Timothy Simons, who plays White House liaison Jonah Ryan on the HBO political satire, tweeted:
Our country hates Jews, muslims, women, black people, LGBTQ, and women. That’s the only takeaway from tonight.

And a few voters in liberal California were so distraught they were weighing another option – breaking off and forming their own country. The hashtag #Calexit, began trending on Twitter Wednesday. The name echoes the successful “brexit” campaign in Britain to leave the European Union.
There is also now renewed interest in the “Yes California” campaign, which backs an independence referendum in support of a constitutional exit of the state from the U.S., reported the cable network.
“As the sixth largest economy in the world, California is more economically powerful than France and has a population larger than Poland. Point-by-point, California compares and competes with countries, not just the 49 other states,” the campaign’s website said.
WND’s report, however, pointed out that Canada has strict requirements for those hoping to move there, including residency permits, applications and a residency card.
Those who are successful in such a move would find a nation run along the socialist agenda of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who is a close friend of President Obama. Trudeau is in the middle of a program to integrate 50,000 Syrian refugees in a single year with likely more on the way next year.
Just like the program Obama has been pursuing.
Seems a few of the celebs also talked about New Zealand, to which Susanne, from New Zealand, wrote, “No thanks. We don’t want them.”
