(ZEROHEDGE) — On Friday we were surprised to learn that an application offered by Apple, and created by an anti-Trump developer, was allowing Americans in swing states to trade votes with other ideologically alligned Americans in deep blue states. As the app explained, “we match Hillary voters in blue states with third-party voters in swing states to help them trade votes. Hillary gets more swing votes and third-party candidates get their votes counted.”
It now appears that, far from isolated, the practice is quite prevalent in what Reuters has dubbed an attempt by American voters to “game” the US election system.
Reuters profiles the case of Sophy Warner who wanted to vote for third-party U.S. presidential candidate Jill Stein, but she was worried that her ballot, cast in the swing state of Ohio, might help Republican Donald Trump capture the White House. So, with the help of website “Trump Traders,” the 20-year-old biology student at Cleveland State University got in touch with Marc Baluda, 44, a Republican corporate lawyer in California who opposes Trump’s candidacy and planned to vote for Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.
