If you’ve been paying attention to the Clinton campaign, it’s pretty clear that a key part of its strategy is willful ignorance. But after the recent terror attempts in New York and New Jersey, it’s time for Hillary Clinton and her former boss to admit their role in making Americans less safe.
Clinton on Monday tried, quite remarkably, to claim any terror attempts on the U.S. between now and the election are the work of ISIS sympathizers who want her to lose.
Why?
Well, according to Clinton, they want the Republican presidential hopeful in the Oval Office because he’ll help them recruit.
“We know that a lot of rhetoric we’ve heard from Donald Trump has been seized on by terrorists, in particular ISIS, because they’re looking to make this into a war against Islam rather than a war against jihadists. Violent terrorists, people whose number in the tens of thousands, not tens of millions, they want to use that to recruit more fighters to turn this into a religious conflict,” Clinton said.
“That’s why I’ve been very clear: We’re going after the bad guys and we’re going to get them, but we’re not going after an entire religion and give the terrorists exactly what its wanting in order for them to enhance their position,” she added. “Second, we know Donald Trump’s comments have been used online in recruitment for terrorists.”
You can’t make this stuff up.
If Clinton’s reasoning sounds familiar, it’s because you’ve heard it before. Like when she claimed the real story about hacked DNC emails was not how she and the Democratic elites fixed the primaries—but how it was a sign the Russians hacked the DNC to help Trump because he’d be their puppet. Or like way back in the 90s, when she claimed her husband was getting side action in the Oval Office because of right wingers… or something.
It’s Clinton’s modus operandi.
This time, however, even the most dedicated Democratic voters shouldn’t let her get away with it because it’s going to put all Americans in danger.
Clinton and Obama both refuse to acknowledge that theses most recent attacks on U.S. soil have Islamic terror written all over them because it would require them to admit just how badly they’ve screwed up. Clinton screwed up by making an absolute mess of the Middle East, destabilizing the region as Obama’s top diplomat even more than the previous administration and opening the door for religious extremists to build the Islamic society they believe their god demanded. And, besides hiring Clinton as Secretary of State, Obama screwed up by pushing the agenda of political correctness and the ideas of Islamic apologists more than any president before him.
Now, neither is willing to admit they were wrong.
Clinton can accuse Trump of “looking to make this into a war against Islam” all she wants. But she should at least also admit that certain Islamic factions have undoubtedly already declared war on Americans. Likewise, she can claim that she knows the best way to stop ISIS at the source all she wants—but Clinton ought also to remind Americans of her role in toppling regimes that were holding the fanatical movement she then armed at bay.
