Before the smoke cleared from the latest terrorist attack by people whose religion is completely irrelevant, President Barack Obama was on the case. All right, maybe he wasn’t right on it.
While I’m sure the Nobel Peace Prize-winning, purported leader of the free world had some concerns about the carnage in Brussels, he did have prior commitments. There were ballgames to catch, compliments to pay to homicidal dictators, and selfies to snap in front of murals of genocidal terrorists. To quote the man himself: “I’ve got a lot of things on my plate.”
Hey sorry, Mr. President. I hate to think ISIS’s latest demonstration of their idea of civilized discourse was such a drag, man. You were enjoying Havana Nights with Fidel Castro’s creepy brother, doing live interviews with ESPN about how terrific Cuba’s society is, and those ISIS jerks wrecked it by doing the exact same thing islamofascists have been doing for the 14 centuries or so. I’m sure if you asked them nicely, they’d try to work their next assault on humanity around your scheduling.
But it’s not just ISIS making Obama’s life difficult. The press asking questions about ISIS apparently annoys him at least as much. During a brief Q&A while Obama got his groove on in Argentina, a reporter showed the temerity to ask Obama about the Brussels attacks. Obama snapped “I addressed this issue a little bit at the baseball game.”
Obama’s doing lots of super-neato stuff south of the border, and the stupid media just want to focus on a threat which he has made a career out of downplaying. In case anyone was still confused about how dim a view Obama still takes of the guys he called “degraded” and “JV,” President Peace Prize elaborated. “Groups like ISIL can’t destroy us. They can’t defeat us. They can’t produce anything. They’re not an existential threat to us.”
Sure, ISIS is a pain; but they’re no “climate change.” They’re not even “white privilege.” It’s not that Obama doesn’t take the plague of Islamofascist terrorism seriously, it’s just that he doesn’t take them as seriously as science fiction which is working on its fourth name in as many decades, or an idiot excuse used by vermin like “Reverend” Al Sharpton to justify their race pimping.
While some of Europe’s countries are beginning to see the wisdom in taking a closer look at the influx of Muslim “refugees,” they’re likely closing the mosque door after the suicide bomber has gone. Bombings, murders and sexual assaults committed by Muslims against non-Muslim Europeans are already becoming the norm. Multiple outlets are now reporting that ISIS has dispatched upwards of 400 jihadists to carry out missions similar to the ones in Brussels, Paris and San Bernardino.
But Obama has a plan. He says we can crush ISIS “by saying you are not strong, you are weak.” The “red line in the sand” didn’t work; nor did arming “moderate” rebels, since they seem to be thin on the ground in ISIS home field. Now he wants us to unite in hurling — um — strongly-worded declamations?
“You there! ISIS guy! You’re a jerk!”
“The infidel has a point. I am quitting jihad!”
So, Barry has obviously checked out. Seven years of bending over backwards to keep from offending the delicate sensibilities of every “aloha snackbar”-shrieking cretin from San Bernardino to Syria has left Obama with a permanent case of the irrelevant. Not that he’s ever hidden his disdain for the rest of us, but his final year, from canoodling with dictators, thugs and criminals to dismissing Islamofascism’s war on humanity as some kind of aggravating distraction, has devolved into some kind of world farewell tour of “trolling.”
And I’m ok with that. Let Obama continue treating his last six months or so like a vacation. Go on, see the world. Party with communist tyrants. Live like a king. Spend our money like a trophy wife with a platinum card. Enjoy!
Just don’t come back.
