American gun makers and shooting sports organizations are banning together in an effort to educate as many American voters as possible about Hillary Clinton’s massive threat to 2nd Amendment rights.
The campaign, headed up by the National Shooting Sports Foundation, says on its website: “With the balance of the Supreme Court at stake, this election will affect our constitutional rights. It is crucial that all gun owners and Second Amendment supporters register to vote, become informed about candidates’ positions, and on Election Day, #GUNVOTE. Don’t risk your rights!”
Gun makers, ammo suppliers and outdoor retailers are throwing considerable financial backing behind the effort to inform voters about what a Clinton presidency means for the 2nd Amendment.
Smith and Wesson just gave the NSSF $500,000 for its #GUNVOTE efforts. Previously, O.F. Mossberg contributed $150,000, Sig Sauer gave $100,000, ammo maker Hornady Manufacturing donated $250,000, and Gander Mountain is distributing #GUNVOTE materials in its retail stories.
Smith and Wesson said its hefty contribution was motivated in part by the recent abuse of Massachusetts residents’ 2nd Amendment rights. Without voter input, the state’s attorney general effectively ended the sale of all AR-15s and AK-47s.The move has reportedly created serious problems for small business gun sellers there.
James Debney, CEO of Smith & Wesson, said, “We are honored to support this effort on behalf of our employees and especially the law-abiding firearm owners of Massachusetts, who have so recently been denied their fundamental rights through arbitrary government action that threatens to turn lawful gun owners and dealers into criminals. To stop this from happening elsewhere, it is imperative that citizens across our nation are informed and knowledgeable about their rights, their candidates and the importance of their vote in this critical election year.”
