It’s like QVC… but for guns

A new television network called Gun TV is bringing the convenience and good deals of televised home shopping to the firearm market.

By the end of the year, the newly-launched Gun TV hopes to provide viewers a 24-hour shopping channel for firearms and firearm accessories complete with gun reviews and safety information.

“We are very excited to bring our new concept of shopping for firearms and accessories to live television,” Gun TV cofounder Valerie Castle said in a press release. “Our unique platform allows industry manufacturers to showcase products through our talented and experienced on-air hosts. Viewers will receive in-depth, entertaining product demonstrations, and see the products in action, an important component of the purchasing decision.”

GunTV is currently available on Verizon Fios subscribers and has been picked up by dozens of smaller affiliates. It’s not being shown by Time Warner Cable. Here’s a full listing of where the network is available.

And if you can’t catch the network on cable, it also livestreams online at gunTV.tv.

According to its founders, the process of purchasing a firearm through the network is no different than the online gun-buying process.

“You can logon to GunTV.tv when our new website launches simultaneously with our on air launch for a very fluid experience. You call our toll free number and speak to any of our customer experience representatives,” Castle said. “They are going to take your order. They are going to ask you for your zip code. They are going to pull up a list of federally licensed firearms dealers that are reputable brick and mortar retailers.”
