Donald Trump has a unique problem among Republican presidential hopefuls: His popularity has become a safety liability.

Officials in Burlington, Vermont, are lamenting the logistical challenges linked with hosting the Trump campaign and its supporters.

A Trump rally scheduled for Thursday night at the Flynn Center for the Arts will accommodate at least 6,500 people at a venue that seats 1,400.

Burlington’s Democrat Mayor Miro Weinberger said in a statement Thursday that while Trump was welcome in the city, he was “concerned, however, that the dramatic over-ticketing of the rally could mar Mr. Trump’s visit,” Fox News reported. “I urge the Trump Campaign to take responsible steps to ensure the event proceeds smoothly and without incident.”

The Trump campaign was denied the ability to carry out its contingency plan for an overflow of supporters.

“Massive crowd in VT tonight. Venue not big enough. Officials say NO to outside event and sound system. Arrive early!” Trump tweeted before heading to the event.

Large crowd have flocked to Trump’s events since he took the Republican front-runner position in August. Roughly 30,000 fans packed into a football stadium in Mobile, Alabama, Aug. 21.

An event in Biloxi, Mississippi, recently attracted 10,000 people.

“My wife always watches on television because it’s always live. And they do get good ratings for these speeches, but she watches on television. She always says, ‘Darling, did you have many people there?’ Trump said in Mississippi Jan. 2. “She says, ‘They never take the camera off your face.’ They don’t want to show the crowd. That’s what it is. They’re really dishonest people.”

Trump then motioned at the cameraman, who zoomed out to reveal a capacity crowd.
