Fox News superstar to be on Trump’s Supreme Court?

Judge Andrew Napolitano was spotted for a second time at Trump Tower Tuesday morning, leading to speculation that President-elect Donald Trump may be considering the judge for a position on the U.S. Supreme Court.

Napolitano, a former New Jersey Superior Court judge and Fox News senior judicial analyst, is a favorite commentator in conservative and libertarian circles. After he emerged from an elevator at Trump Tower Tuesday, several blogs, including one published by former Rep. Allen West, began speculating about Napolitano’s meeting with Trump.

“Trump might be seeking advice from the libertarian analyst — and maybe, just maybe he might be considering the Fox analyst for a Supreme Court position,” wrote PJ Media’s Tyler O’Neil. “While Napolitano is not one of the 21 names on Trump’s SCOTUS list, anything is possible.”

Matt Palumbo at Allen West’s blog added, “If he’s not in consideration for what will be the most contested appointment Trump makes, he’s undeniably going to be influential in picking who that person is.”

After the meeting, Napolitano told Fox Business’ Stuart Varney, “The president-elect is focusing on his choices, or his choice, for the Supreme Court of the United States.”

Napolitano continued, “We discussed the judicial attitudes, judicial temperament, judicial ideology and candidates for the court.”

In his columns published on WND and in public statements, the judge has been outspoken on the issue of Hillary Clinton’s unsecured private email server, even suggesting the Department of Justice may reopen the email case against the former secretary of state.

As of Tuesday, Judge William H. Pryor Jr. was widely considered to be Trump’s most likely choice for the nomination. Trump’s current list of 21 candidates for the Supreme Court does not include Napolitano. The following is the list of individuals Trump is reportedly considering for the high court:

Trump has promised to pick a candidate that shares the late Justice Antonin Scalia’s faithfulness to the U.S. Constitution and conservatism.

As WND reported, his rumored top choice is William Pryor, a judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit since 2004. WND CEO and Editor Joseph Farah recently advised Trump against nominating Pryor in his daily column, calling the judge an “establishment hack.” Farah cited Pryor’s 2003 prosecution of then-Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore for violating judicial ethics after Moore pledged to display a Ten Commandments monument at a state judicial building in Montgomery.

Farah noted that the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in 2015 that a Ten Commandments monument on the grounds of the Texas State Capitol was constitutional and that the U.S. Supreme Court chamber itself has a display of the Ten Commandments on the ceiling.

“Does anyone, Donald Trump included, think Antonin Scalia would hold that Judge Roy Moore should have been removed from office for displaying the Ten Commandments?” farah asked. “If not, then we should agree that the man who prosecuted Roy Moore for defying that illegal federal court order as a judicial ethics violation is hardly worthy of replacing him on the high court.”

Obama commutes Chelsea Manning’s jail term

() — WASHINGTON — President Obama on Tuesday largely commuted the remaining prison sentence of Chelsea Manning, the army intelligence analyst convicted of an enormous 2010 leak that revealed American military and diplomatic activities across the world, disrupted the administration, and made WikiLeaks, the recipient of those disclosures, famous.

The decision by Mr. Obama rescued Ms. Manning, who twice tried to commit suicide last year, from an uncertain future as a transgender woman incarcerated at the male military prison at Fort Leavenworth, Kan. She has been jailed for nearly seven years, and her 35-year sentence was by far the longest punishment ever imposed in the United States for a leak conviction.

Now, under the terms of Mr. Obama’s commutation announced by the White House on Tuesday, Ms. Manning is set to be freed on May 17 of this year, rather than in 2045.

Elites around the world fear they’re losing control

Growing populism throughout the world has the global elite scrambling to find new ways to push their agenda on the masses.

The outcome of the Brexit vote followed by Donald Trump’s election to the White House has world elites trying to understand why, despite their control over mass media and various influential think tanks, voters are turning against their plans for globalization.

The World Economic Forum, which holds an annual meeting for political and business elites each year in Davos, Switzerland, is even planning a special meeting this year in the U.S. to formulate a response to Trump’s victory.

As Bloomberg reported:

The organization will convene a special meeting in Washington this year to discuss issues raised during the president-elect’s campaign and the populist wave that swept him to victory, WEF founder Klaus Schwab told Bloomberg Television on Sunday. The gathering will explore U.S. investment and job-creation opportunities for companies that participate in the forum, he said.

“It’s very natural that with the new administration we plan a major event in the U.S. to see what are the implications of the new president and how the business community could engage,” Schwab said in advance of the forum’s 47th annual meeting in the Swiss ski resort of Davos. “We have to be responsive to the call.”

Schwab blames growing populist discontent with the plans mapped out by the world’s powerbrokers on a “silent fear” that he and his elitist allies claim threaten the progress of developing a “global village” to solve world problems.

One of the major reasons global elites are losing influence is a massive lack of trust in the governments and other institutions they’ve long manipulated.

The Guardian reported Tuesday that government officials in more than 40 nations are currently working to regain control of information as the internet makes it increasingly easier for their populations to distribute their own ideas and objections regarding government policy.

Not surprisingly this is leading to a simultaneous public loss of respect for many traditional media outlets willing to serve as government megaphones. This is something we witnessed firsthand in the U.S. during the 2016 election.

Trump election brings a new breed of prepper

Hollywood and mainstream news media elitists have long smeared preppers as unreasonably paranoid right wingers whose minds are crowded with apocalyptic visions. But a growing prepper movement among American progressives is likely to challenge the stereotype.

Just as many conservative preppers initially got interested in preparedness in response to perceived government incompetence and threats against freedom, progressives wary of the incoming Trump administration are increasingly interested in off-grid lifestyles and disaster preparedness.

A recent article published by Vocative profiles a couple of theses liberal newcomers to the prepping lifestyle.

From the piece:

Colin Waugh bought a shotgun four weeks before November’s election.

An unapologetic liberal, he was no fan of firearms. He had never owned one before. But Waugh, a 31-year-old from Independence, Missouri, couldn’t shake his fears of a Donald Trump presidency — and all of the chaos it could bring. He imagined hate crimes and violence waged by extremists emboldened by the Republican nominee’s brash, divisive rhetoric. He pictured state-sanctioned roundups of Muslims, gays, and outspoken critics.

“I kept asking myself, ‘Do I want to live under tyranny?’” said Waugh, who supported Bernie Sanders in the Democratic primary and later backed Hillary Clinton. “The answer was absolutely not.”

With Trump now days away from assuming the White House, Waugh’s preparing for the worst. He’s made “bug-out bags” stuffed with ammo, energy bars, and assorted survival gear for his wife and their three cats. He’s begun stowing water and browsing real estate listings in Gunnison County, Colorado, which he’s determined to be a “liberal safe-haven.” Last month, Waugh added a 9mm handgun to his arsenal.

No matter what your political views, it’s good news that a new crop of people interested in prepping is emerging.

Consider Waugh, the “unapologetic liberal” whose “no fan of firearms”… He now, according to the Vocative piece, owns two firearms which he sees not as the terrifying objects MSM makes them out to be but as valuable tools that could save his life should a disaster occur.

Another obvious benefit of more progressives getting interested in the prepping lifestyle is that a growing segment of people with leftist ideas will come to appreciate the value of self-reliance in both times of struggle and in times of calm.

For those who have been ardent preppers throughout the past eight years, meanwhile, the biggest threat is complacency.

Though you may not find many of them on the pages of Personal Liberty®, some conservative Americans seem to have been lulled into a false sense of security following Trump’s election.

Just as the Obama supporters of yesterday believed in the president’s “hope and change” despite all evidence to the contrary, too many Trump fans appear willing to believe America is becoming “great again” even if the nation’s condition continues to deteriorate over the next few years.

While there’s no shame in hoping for the best from the Trump administration, true preppers will continue doing what they do best: preparing for the worst.

That means continuing to rotate and replenish food stores, keeping gun safes well stocked and flush with ammo, keeping your offline prepper library updated, building relationships in your community that could provide beneficial in a grid-down scenario and securing your property against those who may use a disaster as an opportunity to take advantage of you or your family.

Politician arrested for pinching woman’s genitals

(WESTPORT WESTON) GREENWICH, Conn. — A well-known Greenwich Republican called a town worker “nothing but a bloodsucking lazy union employee” and later reached in from behind to place his hand between her legs and pinch her in the groin area, according to the police arrest warrant.

Christopher von Keyserling, 71, of 402 Post Road E., was arrested in Greenwich Town Hall on Wednesday afternoon and charged with fourth-degree sexual assault, police said. He posted $2,500 bond and was released to appear in court on Jan. 25.

The incident began at about noon Dec. 8 when the 57-year-old woman encountered von Keyserling in the hallway of an unnamed town facility, the warrant said.

Obama plants new ‘landmines’ for Trump

(NYPOST) — President Obama rushed to fill nearly 100 federal government vacancies during a frenzy of appointments in his final few weeks in office.

Since the new year, Obama has named 72 people to federal job openings and nominated another 17 for positions requiring Senate confirmation, according to CBS reporter Mark Knoller.

On Monday night, Obama announced appointments for 27 officials to government positions and named two to jobs requiring Senate confirmation.
