Mexican prez: Trump policies ‘huge threat’

(CBS NEWS) President Enrique Pena Nieto levied heavy criticisms at Donald Trump following the Republican nominee’s visit to Mexico Wednesday, calling some of his policies a “risk” that “must be confronted.”

“His policy stances could represent a huge threat to Mexico, and I am not prepared to keep my arms crossed and do nothing,” Pena Nieto said in a television interview late Wednesday evening, according to a Reuters report. “That risk, that threat, must be confronted. I told him that is not the way to build a mutually beneficial relationship for both nations.”

Pena Nieto’s comments come after the two politicians gave differing accounts on whether the payment of a border wall — one of Trump’s key immigration tenets — was discussed in the course of their hour-long meeting in Mexico.

Hillary emailed classified info after leaving State

(FOX NEWS) Hillary Clinton apparently kept sending classified information over her personal email after leaving the State Department, according to documents obtained by the Republican National Committee.

The file in question is a May 2013 email Clinton sent from her private account to State Department officials and aides discussing the “123 deal” with the United Arab Emirates.

Much of the message is redacted due to classified information. The markings list the material as “confidential” and say it can only be declassified in 2033.

Fake news sites planted to trip up Republicans

(STREAM) Almost all of us have been a victim of accidentally spreading fake news at one time. A trusted friend emails you a link to an article that is red meat for the conservative base; it sounds legitimate, and the name of the site even sounds official. You forward the article and post it on Facebook and Twitter — and then the backlash is embarrassing. Multiple people point out you’re wrong, and you feel like an idiot. But how were you to know, especially in this information overload, social media era? It has become normal to quickly skim articles and headlines. And why would you suspect your most trusted, intelligent friends would be sending you false news?

It used to be The Onion was the only satire news site. And the site makes it very clear its news is satire. But within the last year, multiple sites (there is a list compiled here) have sprung up that do not make it clear they are satire, if at all. They brazenly post fake news that isn’t even funny, like The Onion, but sounds like legitimate news.

Poll shock: Hillary drops to 39%

(RASMUSSEN) Hillary Clinton’s post-convention lead has disappeared, putting her behind Donald Trump for the first time nationally since mid-July.

The latest weekly Rasmussen Reports White House Watch national telephone and online survey shows Trump with 40% support to Clinton’s 39% among Likely U.S. Voters, after Clinton led 42% to 38% a week ago. Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson now earns seven percent (7%) of the vote, down from nine percent (9%) the previous two weeks, while Green Party candidate Jill Stein picks up three percent (3%) support. Three percent (3%) like some other candidate, and seven percent (7%) are undecided.

Deportations under Obama set to hit decade low

(THE HILL) The number of undocumented immigrants deported by President Obama is falling and could hit a 10-year low in 2016 just as the issue heats up in this year’s presidential race.

Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) figures from June suggest 230,000 people could be removed or returned from the country by the end of the fiscal year next month, slightly fewer than the 235,413 deported in 2015. That was the lowest number since 2006.

While the total does not include people caught attempting to illegally cross borders, it still highlights a change in enforcement patterns under Obama.

Obama appointee manages Soros-backed election fund

(FREE BEACON) An Obama administration appointee manages a fund that liberal billionaire George Soros uses to bankroll election-related activities like increasing the number of “voters of color” and “improving odds” of electing preferred candidates, actions that are discussed in recently released hacked documents.

Karen Narasaki, a commissioner of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, manages the Soros-backed Shelby Response Fund. The fund’s objective is “protecting voting rights in states formerly covered under Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act.”

A document uncovered by the group DC Leaks reveals the plans of Soros’s Open Society Foundations that are geared primarily toward minority voters.

WikiLeaks founder calls Hillary ‘a demon’

(DAILY MAIL) Julian Assange has launched a vicious attack on Hillary Clinton, branding her ‘a demon’ who ‘will put a noose around our necks’ after winning the election.

Assange said Clinton and the Democratic party are trying to stir up ‘neo-McCarthyist hysteria’ over Donald Trump’s links to Russia in the wake of the DNC leaks.

The Wikileaks founder, who has effectively been imprisoned in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London since 2012, also accused Clinton of creating a hostile press environment.
