YouTube enacts new policy to discourage ‘controversial or sensitive subjects’

Some of the most popular videos on YouTube feature “social justice warriors” making themselves look like ignorant, entitled fools. You know, like that girl who hates Hawaiian bobble heads. But the Google-owned video hosting company no longer wants us making fun of America’s sensitive little snowflakes.

New rules have many prominent YouTubers ticked off because their videos are being demonetized for featuring content the company considers insensitive.

“Controversial or sensitive subjects and events, including subjects related to war, political conflicts, natural disasters and tragedies, even if graphic imagery is not shown.”

“Inappropriate language, including harassment, profanity and vulgar language,” is also being demonetized.

In other words, the new “advertiser-friendly” policy forces anyone looking to use YouTube as a means to make revenue to adhere strictly to leftist standards of political correctness.

Here’s how Philip DeFranco, one popular YouTuber explains the change (strong language):

“By taking away the ability to monetize a video where you’re saying things that they don’t deem ‘okay,’ that’s been described as censorship with a different name,” DeFranco said in his video, which as of this writing has 1.5 million views. “Because if you do this on the regular and you have no advertising, it’s not sustainable.”

As Infowars reported, internet free speech pioneers have known this was coming for a long time:

As Matt Drudge warned about when he appeared on the Alex Jones Show nearly a year ago, creators allowing their content to be swallowed up by social media ghettos was always going to lead to this outcome.

“I don’t know why they’ve been successful in pushing everybody into these little ghettos, these Facebooks, these Tweets, these Instagrams,” Drudge told Jones. “This is ghetto, this is corporate; they’re taking your energy and you’re getting nothing in return.”

As for YouTube, it’s worth wondering whether this is the first step in removing from the website any and every video that doesn’t fit into the modern American liberal’s version of societal utopia.

Oh yeah, and in case you haven’t seen the anti-bobble head SJW video:

Yikes.
