Democrats’ stress
The Democrats posted a “debatestressball” online, where viewers were asked to “squeeze the stress ball below the word that describes Donald Trump’s actions on stage right now.”
Choices were offensive, unfit, scary, liar, bully and huh??
After five clicks the site insists that participants register.
Dems’ spokesman Adam Hodge wrote, “I’ve found that I need to blow off some steam more and more. … Every time Donald Trump gets you riled up tonight, whether you’re feeling offended or scared, think he’s unfit for office, a bully, or just a downright liar, head over to DebateStressBall.com. And while you’re there, pitch in a few dollars…”
‘Hilary’
NBC reported that someone preparing for the debate at Hofstra University misspelled Hillary Clinton’s name as “Hilary.”
Spokeswoman Karla Schuster told the state the tickets were a “souvenir for the students.”
The report said the “official” ticket did not include the candidates’ names.
Trump connects
During the first few minutes of the debate, Trump’s campaign made direct connections to voters five times within just a few minutes, sending emails about his own plan to revive the economy, which has sputtered under President Obama and his nearly $10 trillion deficit in less than eight years.|
He explained, “Every income group receives a tax cut under the Trump plan, with millions more being removed from the income tax rolls and low-income Americans paying no income tax at all. The greatest percentage reduction in the plan goes to working and middle-class taxpayers.”
He also warned Clinton’s tax agenda “promises to harm the U.S. economy,” “her ‘flip-flops’ have been political,” and promised his tax overhaul would reduce rates.
Immediate reaction
Trump also, only partway into the debate, released reactions that already had come in.
The Financial Times’ Courtney Weaver said, “Trump’s Jobs Comments Getting A Good Response Here In Orlando.”
The Washington Post’s Robert Costa said, “Trump Is Striking The Trade/Populism Message Again And Again And Again.”
NBC News’ Ali Vitali said, “Trump Painting Clinton As Tried Approach, Himself As New/Change Maker.” His tweet: “This is a line we’ve been hearing on the trail a lot recently. Trump painting Clinton as tried approach, himself as new/change maker.”
