Donald Trump
Donald Trump, the Republican Party front-runner in the primary for president, said South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley is exactly right – he is angry.
But he’s not apologizing, saying rather that emotion is what the country needs.
“She is right,” he said, during an interview on CNN, in response to Haley’s reference to his being one of the “angriest voices” on the campaign trail. “I am angry and a lot of other people are angry too at how incompetently our country’s being run. I don’t care. Let her refer to me. As far as I’m concerned, anger and energy is what this country needs.”
The remarks come right around the same time Trump was captured in an angry rant during his speech in Pensacola, Florida, when he experienced difficulties with his microphone.
As the Hill reported, he said: “Whoever the hell brought this mic system, don’t pay the son of the [expletive]. This mic is terrible. Stupid mic keeps popping. … Don’t pay him. You know, I believe in paying, but when somebody does a bad job like this stupid mi, you shouldn’t pay the bastard. Terrible. Terrible. It’s true.”
On CNN, Trump spoke to the reports that Haley is a front-runner consideration for the vice presidential slot in several GOP races.
He called Haley a “very nice woman,” albeit “weak on the subject of illegal immigration,” the Hill reported.
He also said he would still consider her a candidate for that vice presidential role, but “a very important thing for me is borders and security and she’s not very strong on those subjects and that would bother me very much,” he said, the Hill reported.
