Bob Dole echoes Trump: ‘Nobody likes’ Cruz

Bob Dole

Bob Dole

Bob Dole, former senator and failed presidential hopeful, stepped in Donald Trump’s shadow and said just what the front-runner Republican primary contender did about his competitor, Ted Cruz: that the fiery Texan is too unlikable to win the White House.

“I don’t know how he’s going to deal with Congress,” Dole said, in an interview with the New York Times. “Nobody likes him.”

That’s exactly what Trump said a few days ago during an interview on “This Week” on ABC News. As WND reported. Trumps called Cruz “a nasty guy” and said, “Nobody likes him. Nobody in Congress likes him anywhere once they get to know him.”

Dole said Cruz was an “extremist” who could not work with members of his own political party.

His choice for president?

“[Trump would] probably work with Congress,” Dole said, USA Today reported. “[He’s] kind of a deal maker.”

Dole previously told MSNBC he could very well stay home from the ballot box if Cruz were elected the Republican’s nominee. He also said Democrat Hillary Clinton would handily beat Cruz in the general election.

Meanwhile, one of Cruz’s campaign aides put out a tweet that dismissed Dole as an establishment Republican.

“Establishment icon Dole Endorses Trump Over Cruz,” wrote Brian Phillips, USA Today found. “Are the Trump supporters understanding what’s going on now?”
