“The Gambler” is putting his chips in with Donald Trump.

Country-music icon Kenny Rogers said Monday he loves the Republican presidential front-runner’s “guts,” even if his liberal children do not.

“I really like him. I think his problem is that he says what everyone wants to hear, but he doesn’t say it well,” Rogers, 77, told the  Guardian on Monday. “I love what he says, I have to admit. He can be president and not owe anybody anything. He’s one of the few people [who] has the money to do it, and has the guts to do it. You’re biting off a lot by doing that. He believes everything he says: Whether he’s right or not, he says what everybody fears.”

Rogers then said his two sons will never join the Trump bandwagon.

“They are Democrats that live in California – there’s no hope for them. They’ll vote for Hillary no matter what she does. She’s a friend of mine. I’m not trashing her.”

Trump, however, has no qualms attacking the former secretary of state.

“She was going to beat Obama,” Trump said Monday night at a Grand Rapids, Michigan, campaign rally. “I don’t know who would be worse. I don’t know, how could it be worse? But she was going to beat – she was favored to win – and she got schlonged, she lost, I mean she lost.”

Nick Adams’ book, “The American Boomerang: How The World’s Greatest Turnaround Nation Will Do It Again,” is endorsed by the likes of Dr. Ben Carson, Glenn Beck, Dick Morris, Gov. Mike Huckabee and Dennis Prager

Clinton campaign spokeswoman Jennifer Palmieri said Tuesday on Twitter there would be no response to the “degrading language” use by Trump. “Schlong” is a slang Yiddish term for penis.

Trump has been the Republican front-runner since August, although a Quinnipiac University poll released Tuesday shows Texas Sen. Ted Cruz eating away at his lead.

Quinnipiac’s national poll of Republican primary voters, which has a a margin of error of plus or minus four percentage points, has Trump capturing 28 percent to Cruz’s 24 percent. Pollsters surveyed 508 Republicans from Dec. 16 through Dec. 20 before tabulating the results.
