The weight of all of Hillary Clinton’s many scandals and alleged crimes is catching up to her in the polls.
A new Rasmussen poll finds an incredible 46 percent of likely U.S. voters believe Clinton should suspend her bid for the presidency, saving herself the potential embarrassment of being forced out by legal action — or insurmountable scandal — relating to her email allegations.
Even more amazing, Rasmussen found that one-fourth of Democratic voters feel Hillary should just stop campaigning — at least for the time being.
From the summary:
Growing national security questions about Hillary Clinton’s use of a private e-mail server during her time as secretary of State are drowning out much of her message as a presidential candidate and causing many of her fellow Democrats to worry about the future of her campaign. Is it time for Clinton to put her campaign on temporary hold?
Voters are almost evenly divided on that question: the latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 46% of Likely U.S. Voters believe Clinton should suspend her campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination until all of the legal questions about her use of the private e-mail server are resolved. Nearly as many (44%) disagree.
As you can see, a small majority of people actually feels that Hillary should halt her campaign. The growing anti-Hillary sentiment — even among Democrats — comes at a time when the White House appears prepared to support a Joe Biden candidacy over Hillary’s. Biden hasn’t polled well historically, but it would be interesting to see how well Democrats would receive his announcement as Hillary’s stock continues to fall.
