Ivana Trump
Ivana Trump, one of Donald Trump’s ex-wives, said in an interview with the New York Post that America needed immigrants – that without them, it would be difficult to find people to vacuum and clean.
She also said America has lost its greatness on the international stage and “we have to get it back,” she said.
“I have nothing against Mexicans, but if they [come] here – like [a] 19=year-old … pregnant … cross[es] over a wall that’s this high, she gives the birth in American hospital, which is for free. The child becomes American automatically. She brings the whole family, she doesn’t pay the taxes, she doesn’t have a job, she gets the housing, she gets the food stamps. Who’s paying? You and me,” said Trump, adding that she’s “an immigrant” herself, born in a communist country, the New York Post reported.
She went on, the newspaper said: “As long as you come here legally and get a proper job … we need immigrants. Who’s going to vacuum our living rooms and clean up after us? Americans don’t like to do that.”
Trump, 67, is a former model who divorced from Republican presidential primary front-runner Donald Trump in 1991, after rumors of his widely publicized affair with Marla Maples. But she said they’ve remained friends and she supports him for president, appreciates and backs his immigration policies – and even created his motto, “You think it, I say it,” she said.
“He’s no politician,” she said, the New York Post reported. “He’s a businessman. He knows how to talk. He can give an hour speech without notes … He’s blunt. … And he [can] make a decision. Obama cannot make a decision if his life depends on it. It’s ridiculous.”
