The body of Justice Antonin Scalia will lie in repose at the Great Hall of the Supreme Court building on Friday, marking the start of two dys of national mourning for the conservative favorite who served for almost three decades.

President Obama is due to join the rest of the justices and Scalia’s family for a private ceremony at 9:30 a.m. The White House, meanwhile, put out a statement via spokesman Josh Earnest saying Obama’s absence at the upcoming funeral is due to security reasons.

Vice president Joe Biden and his wife, Jill, are due to attend the funeral instead. The White House has still not said what Obama will be doing during the time set for Scalia’s funeral.

The Great Hall will be open to the public at 10:30 a.m., until 8:30 p.m., NBC News reported.

Scalia, 79, died Saturday while visiting a Texas ranch resort. As reported by WND, Scalia’s oldest son, Eugene, just called on the public to stop theorizing about any suspicious circumstances surrounding his death, calling such talk “a distraction from a great man and his legacy.”

Part of the suspicions of the Cibolo Creek Ranch death stem from the reports of a pillow over the judge’s head; part come from the fact an autopsy will not be performed, despite the sudden death in a public facility.

Scalia’s funeral is set for 11 a.m. Saturday at the Bascilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington.
