Largest U.S. mall takes Black Lives Matter to court

A Minnesota court will determine whether or not Black Lives Matter supporters are allowed to play the role of “The Grinch” for Mall of America shoppers before Christmas.

The largest shopping mall in the nation asked a court Monday to impose a restraining order on activists planning to protest its Bloomington location. A Hennepin County judge’s decision on Wednesday’s protest may order BLM activists to delete plans from their social media accounts.

“Defendants and their agents are ordered to delete and take down any online materials, including posts on Facebook, messages on Twitter and online messages in any other form that solicit or encourage others to engage in any demonstration on MOA Premises on December 23, 2015 or that provide information about the planned demonstration on MOA Premises on December 23, 2015,” the mall’s complaint reads in part. The text was posted on the Black Lives Matter Minneapolis Facebook page Monday.

Judge Karen Janisch said she would make her decision soon, KARE 11 reported Monday.

Moderators for the Facebook page called the complaint an “unconstitutional intimidation tactic” because MOAC Mall Holdings LLC allegedly received “hundreds of millions of dollars of taxpayer subsidies.”

BLM’s protest seeks to raise awareness of 24-year-old Jamar Clark, who was shot during a Nov. 15 altercation with Minneapolis police officers Mark Ringgenberg and Dustin Schwarze. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled Clark’s death a homicide.

Lt. Bob Kroll, president of the Minneapolis Police Federation, told KARE-11 on Nov. 18 that Clark, an assault suspect at the time of his death, attempted to disarm one of the officers.

“Organizers have no plans to halt the demonstration unless authorities release the tapes related to Jamar Clark’s case, prosecute police without a grand jury by special prosecutor and bring federal terrorism charges against white supremacists who shot five protesters during the occupation,” BLM said on its Facebook page, the Washington Times reported Monday.

In “Scam: How the Black Leadership Exploits Black America,” Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson – a true black leader whom many affectionately call “the other Jesse” – shows how the civil rights establishment has made a lucrative career out of keeping racial strife alive in America.

Mall of America, which experienced a 1,000-person strong BLM event last December, says all protests on its private property are prohibited. Its complaint alleges BLM’s 2014 actions resulted in 24,000 fewer shoppers and caused tenants irreparable harm.

President Obama has defended BLM since its inception. He talked to National Public Radio’s Steve Inskeep on Monday about the organization, saying, “Sometimes progress is a little uncomfortable,” WND reported.
