The executive editor of the Daily Beast news organization, Noah Shachtman, put out a series of tweets in which he advised American consumers to quit purchasing products made in the Donald Trump name. Why?
“Let’s get real,” he wrote, in one Twitter post, the Blaze reported. “If you’re renting a Trump building or playing a round of golf at a Trump resort, you are supporting racism and neo-facism.”
But that wasn’t all.
“Seems to me it’s time for a boycott of Trump businesses – and a public calling out of those who choose to work with him,” he said in another tweet.
And in another, he wrote, “6 months ago, you could say you were doing business w Trump w/o endorsing his views. 8,000 racist moments later, that’s no longer feasible.”
Schachtman then specified some Trump businesses that Americans ought to avoid.
“Today,” he tweeted, the Blaze found, “if you rent a room at a Trump Hotel, you’re making a statement – a choice to be pro-racist, pro-fascist.”
Can the Republican Party save itself? Richard Viguerie has the prescription in “Takeover.”
Schactman’s website bio bills him as a former campaign worker for Bill Clinton. The Blaze said the Daily Beast, which puts itself as a “fiercely independent” news source on its website, did not immediately respond to a request for comment about the tweets.
