State Department ‘transparency czar’ was part of Hillary’s secret email chain

Only one week after John Kerry hired her into a new State Department “transparency czar” role, reports have surfaced that Janice Jacobs — already known to have donated to Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign — is also directly involved in Clinton’s email scandal.

From the outset, Jacobs’ hiring, as well as the creation of a “czar” position in the first place, came under fire because of Jacobs’ recent donation to the Clinton campaign. Federal Election Commission records from June show Jacobs donated $2,700 — the maximum per-contribution amount an individual is allowed to make — to Hillary for America, Clinton’s official campaign machine.

Now, the Washington Examiner is reporting that Jacobs is mentioned by name in a handful of emails that Clinton housed on a private and unsecured server while serving as secretary of state. Those emails have since been classified.

“Janice Jacobs, the State Department’s new ‘transparency czar,’ is included in some of the private Hillary Clinton emails she is meant to oversee,” the Examiner reported.

“Jacobs, a career diplomat who was appointed last week as the agency’s transparency coordinator, is copied on a number of now-classified emails that have been released by the State Department over the past several months.”

Being a party to the very scandal that you’re in charge of being “transparent” about sounds like a massive conflict of interest, but then again, there can be no cronyism and corruption without it.

Jacobs was copied on things like “diplomatic” and “consular” activity in North Korea, as well as the State Department’s fundraising partnership strategy in the aftermath of the Haitian earthquake. All of those email chains have since been classified, according to the Examiner.
