Florida Sen. Marco Rubio’s team appears to have some serious fight in it – literally.
John Yob, a Michigan consultant for Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, tweeted early Friday morning of a sucker punch allegedly thrown by Rubio’s deputy campaign manager, Rich Beeson.
“Rich Beeson, the CM for Rubio, punched me in the face tonight on Mackinac Island,” Yob said on Twitter at 3:13 a.m. ET.
Security camera footage from Horns Bar on Mackinac Island shows a man, allegedly Beeson, throwing a flat-footed right jab at another man’s face.
“We are handling it. A complaint was filed. It has been forwarded to the Mackinac County prosecutor for review. We are not currently seeking Mr. Beeson,” Mackinac Island Police Chief Brett Riccinto told Breitbart.
Yob told Politico he was given a private apology by Rubio’s campaign manager Terry Sullivan, who initially thought the allegation was a joke.
“It is understandable that he would have initially thought that this was too crazy to actually be true. The Rubio campaign is not to blame. Today I hope that he and Senator Rubio will take action on this matter as the state police investigate,” Yob said, Politico reported.
