In a new book detailing Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton’s many personal and political problems ahead of the 2016 election, author Edward Klein writes that Clinton, insulted that the White House didn’t cover-up her email scandal more thoroughly, demanded of the president, “Call off your f*cking dogs, Barack.”
Klein’s book “Unlikeable: The Problem With Hillary” cites sources close to both Clinton and the White House to back the claim.
The New York Times bestselling author writes that Clinton’s disrespectful outburst came during a meeting she arranged with the president to discuss how she felt “she was being persecuted for minor, meaningless violations.”
According to Klein’s account, President Obama had little interest in dealing with his former secretary of state’s problems.
“He was almost being deliberately dense,” a Clinton source reportedly said. “It really angered her.”
That’s when Clinton lost it and through White House decorum out the window.
“What I want for you to do is call off your f–king dogs, Barack!” Klein says she shouted at the president.
According to the book, a stunned President Obama remained largely unmoved by Clinton’s emotional outburst, responding after a few moments: “There is nothing I can do for you one way or another. Things have been set in motion, and I can’t and won’t interfere. Your problems are, frankly, of your own making.”
Clinton reportedly then said to the president: “There are always haters out there to get the Clintons.”
Indeed, haters and vast right-wing conspiracies.
Clinton spokesman Nick Merrill, noting that Klein has in the past published outrageous and largely unverifiable claims about the Clintons, flatly denied that the former first lady shouted at the president.
“Another book? Someone should do a book about Ed,” Merrill told the New York Post. “They could call it ‘Bulls–t: The Problem with Anything Ed Klein Writes.’”
“The only true thing about him is his consistent and utter lack of a relationship with the facts,” he continued. “He has more hair than credibility, and the man is bald. So we’re not going to get down in the gutter with him and his outrageous fabrications.”
Still, having watched Clinton blame personal and political problems on everyone but herself for decades, Klein’s claims don’t seem very outlandish at all.
