C.J. Pearson, 13: @POTUS blocked me on Twitter

C.J. Pearson, 13, says the president blocked him from the White House Twitter account.

C.J. Pearson, 13, says the president blocked him from the White House Twitter account.

C.J. Pearson, a 13-year-old conservative-minded activist who has rocked national headlines in recent weeks with a YouTube video critical of the president, said the White House has responded to his expressions of free speech by blocking him on Twitter.

Pearson rose to media fame after he bluntly criticized President Obama for inviting 14-year-old Ahmed Mohamed, the clock-making bomb suspect, to the White House, as WND reported. It was shortly after that, Pearson said, he was blocked from viewing or following Obama’s social media activity on Twitter.

So Pearson took to Twitter himself and posted a screen shot of the block, along with the cryptic message: “Well, this sucks.”

The White House denied blocking Pearson. As the Hill found, Frank Benenati, as assistant White House press secretary, tweeted out shortly after Pearson’s accusation made media waves: “Public Service Announcement: Nobody is or has ever been blocked from the @POTUS twitter account.”

Yet Pearson wasn’t convinced in the White House’s claim – and neither were many on the social media site.

Pearson responded to the White House denial by posting a video to Facebook, in which he says: “If you think the American people are going to fall for your little tricks, you’re downright crazy. This administration has lied to the American people time and time again. They lied about Benghazi. They lied about the IRS. They lied about every issue of importance to the American people. … It almost sucks that this is what it takes to get a response from the White House.”

Pearson also said the denial was “completely fallacious,” the Hill reported.

And Pearson’s Twitter followers were quick to offer support.

Greg Rice, @GregRice12, wrote: “@thecjpearson no, that doesn’t suck. Means you did something right.”

And another, Twitchy found: “[Obama] can’t handle a teen aged Twitter follower and he’s the leader of the free world.”

Another: “Our ever tolerant president has now blocked a black youth from reaching out to him.”

Yet one more: “If this is a transparent presidency, I’m a fluorescent clear unicorn.”

And another: “OMG! @POTUS blocked a 13yr old? @thecjpearson #PresidentStompyFoot @TwitchyTeam.”

And another: “Seems odd that any American should be blocked from viewing the officials tweets of the President esp a 13 yr old.”
