Michael Savage
“I’m a sexual libertarian but I oppose gay marriage,” Savage told his listeners as the Supreme Court began hearing a case on the issue:
“I believe people should do what they will as long as they leave me alone, and leave the children alone. This includes leaving children’s minds alone, because gay marriage confuses them. I’m not opposed to people being gay. Good luck to you. But now you are demanding that society affirm what you believe, and most Americans oppose gay marriage (Free audio).”
Savage criticized Obama’s non-response to the Baltimore riots, but pointed out that none of the Republican candidates for president had said a word about them either: “All these men – Chris Christie, Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz – they want to be president of the United States. But they have nothing to say about a city burning down? I guarantee you that if I was running for president, I would have held a press conference by now. … I’d explain exactly what I would do to restore law and order in this country. Because at the end of the day, that’s where the blame belongs: At the top (Free audio).”
Rush Limbaugh
Limbaugh recently repeated speculation that Senator Harry Reid’s bizarre injuries may have been the result of a fight with his brother. However, the source for that story now claims he invented the tale to see if conservative talk radio hosts and bloggers would fall for it.
TIME magazine reports that Limbaugh – a longtime fan of Apple products – got his hands on one of the company’s new smart watches and “has a fairly positive opinion of the device.” He was particularly impressed with the new version of the digital assistant Siri, adding “the dictation on this watch is flawless.”
Aaron Klein
This week, Klein revealed that major news media outlets weren’t reporting on the troubling background of Malik Shabazz, who is a leader among Baltimore rioters: He’s “a notorious racist and the former national chairman of the New Black Panther Party.”
Klein also reported that the Clintons have been caught siphoning money intended for African AIDS victims.
Former UN Ambassador John Bolton told listeners that Hillary might “capsize” the Obama administration’s nuclear negotiations with Iran by coming out against the talks as part of her presidential campaign.
Listen to Aaron Klein’s show every week on radio (AM 970 The Answer in NY; NewsTalk 990 AM in Philly) or online.
Mark Levin
When discussing the problems plaguing America’s inner cities, factors such as drugs and fatherless children are frequently cited. However, Levin explains why the minimum wage also contributes to lack of opportunity in those areas, and why raising it will make the situation even worse (Free audio).
After the death of a suspect in police custody sparked riots in Baltimore, Levin asked provocatively, “When has Obama ever spoken out about any white kid being shot?”
He added that it’s clear that having black mayors, city councilors and even a president has had “no effect on what’s going on in some of our cities. Zero (Free audio).”
Laura Ingraham
Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) caused a stir when he told Ingraham that the current violence in Baltimore and elsewhere is linked to “lack of fathers” in those communities.
Calling the riots “thuggery and thievery,” Paul said with a chuckle, “I came through the train on Baltimore [sic] last night, I’m glad the train didn’t stop.”
“There are so many things we can talk about: the breakdown of the family structure, the lack of fathers, the lack of a moral code in our society,” he added. “This isn’t just a racial thing (Free audio).”
Ingraham’s other guests this week included historian Victor Davis Hanson, who dismissed Jeb Bush as part of “the old boys club;” Jonah Goldberg, who compared Hillary Clinton to Charlie Sheen; and Deborah Simmons, who called on the president “to admit these liberal policies have not worked since JFK” (Free audio).
Glenn Beck
Glenn Beck has predicted that “50 percent of congregants would fall away from their churches within five years if gay marriage is legalized by the Supreme Court.”
“What does your church do if they are currently saying ‘No, we aren’t going to marry same-sex couples.’ What happens?” Beck asked. “They lose their tax-exempt status and a lot of them will fall away.”
He added that his own church, the Mormons, would either be forced to “shut down” or “have our church in houses and be on the run (Free audio).”
“Thank God for Barack Obama. Barack Obama has made me a better American.”
Not surprisingly, those remarks by Beck got a lot of attention in the liberal media. However, as Beck clarified, he was grateful that the Obama presidency had forced him to become “more involved” and educated himself about the Constitution and the Founding Fathers.
“I’ve discovered for myself and lived libertarian principles,” and come to realize how “dumb” foreign wars are (Free audio).
